Dreams of the past.

Follow your dreams. But do not follow the dreams of your past.

Sharpen the flashlight of your mind to distinguish between the two.

Dreams of the past are baggage that you carry with you through time. It comes from the past. But you live in the present. Unload the baggage and focus on the dreams of today.

Don't get me wrong, this baggage that you carry is valuable to you and that's why you have been carrying it all along. But, you need to open yourself up to create new dreams in the moment.  And that may mean letting go of the those from the past to create the capacity for you to dream today.

It's alright to let go of your dreams. Because you are not your dreams. Your dreams are simply one part of your universe. And sometimes, to continue your journey through life, you need to put the dreams of your past to rest. Celebrate them. Respect them. They made you who you are, after all. But put them to rest and get the closure that you need. Then find and nurture new dreams that you can give room to grow. Be free to dream and be free from your dreams.

Who's to say - maybe one day in the future, the dream that you lost from the past may reincarnate itself, with new fuel to burn a stronger fire. When that day comes, be present and make room to welcome it back, if your being desires it.

But for now, let go of the dreams of the past.
